Custom-home detail

Lake Norman and the Charlotte suburbs are full of homes with two-story great rooms, big windows and detailed ceilings. That's the work our crews are known for: straight lines on tall walls, crisp arches, and tray and coffered ceilings that look right from every angle.

  • Full-house hang and finish
  • Two-story foyers and great rooms
  • Tray, coffered and vaulted ceilings
  • Arches and curved walls
  • Level 5 finishes
  • Imperial veneer plaster

Drywall or veneer plaster

On a new home we do one finish or the other, whichever you want. Drywall is the standard choice. Veneer plaster goes over blue board in thin coats and cures harder than joint compound, with a smooth, durable wall that resists dings. Tell us which you'd like when you ask for a quote. See plaster vs. drywall.

For builders

We schedule around the other trades, keep the site clean, and handle the punch list. Call or text John to get on the schedule.

Complete new home drywall

  • Hanging and sheetrock installation
  • Taping and finishing
  • Smooth walls and Level 5 finishes
  • Ceiling drywall, including vaulted and tray
  • Interior plastering and skim coating
  • Garage and basement drywall
  • Pre-paint repairs and punch list

Why it matters on a new build

The walls are what every buyer touches and sees in every room. Good drywall work gives you paint-ready surfaces, cleaner architectural lines, better sound control and fewer callbacks after closing.

Working around the other trades

We coordinate with framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and insulation so the schedule keeps moving, and we watch for the details that cause callbacks: fire blocking, moisture-resistant board where it's needed, and clean corners at windows and openings.

What affects the price

We don't charge by the hour. Every job is quoted on its own. The things that move the number are:

  • How big the damaged or new area is, and how many rooms are involved
  • Ceiling height and access (stairwells and two-story rooms need staging)
  • The texture or finish that has to be matched
  • Whether the damage goes past the drywall into insulation or framing
  • Drywall vs. plaster: plaster takes more skill and more steps
  • Whether you want us to prime, or hand off to your painter

A photo texted to us is often enough for a ballpark. The written quote comes after we see it.
