What we do after a leak
- Inspect. We find how far the water traveled, not just where the stain shows.
- Confirm the source is fixed and dry. Closing up wet drywall is how stains and mold come back.
- Remove damaged material. Soft, stained or sagging drywall and plaster is cut back to sound material.
- Replace and finish. New board or plaster, taped, finished and textured to match the room.
- Ready for paint. We leave it primed-ready, or work alongside your painter.
Common causes we see
Roof leaks, ice dams, plumbing leaks, leaking toilets and tubs, HVAC condensation lines, water heaters, washing machines and flooding.
Insurance claims
We regularly work with insurance companies and adjusters, as well as homeowners, landlords and property managers. We can photograph and describe the damage and the repair so your claim has what it needs.
Note: we repair drywall and plaster. Active leaks, standing water and mold remediation need a plumber, roofer or restoration company first. We'll tell you if that's the case.
Signs of water-damaged drywall
- Brown or yellow stains
- Bubbling or peeling paint
- Soft drywall
- Sagging ceilings
- Swollen edges or loose tape
- Musty odors or mildew
Right after a leak
- Stop the water at the source.
- Keep everyone out from under a sagging ceiling.
- Photograph the damage for insurance before anything is moved.
- Call us once the source is fixed. We'll check how far the water traveled.
What affects the price
We don't charge by the hour. Every job is quoted on its own. The things that move the number are:
- How big the damaged or new area is, and how many rooms are involved
- Ceiling height and access (stairwells and two-story rooms need staging)
- The texture or finish that has to be matched
- Whether the damage goes past the drywall into insulation or framing
- Drywall vs. plaster: plaster takes more skill and more steps
- Whether you want us to prime, or hand off to your painter
A photo texted to us is often enough for a ballpark. The written quote comes after we see it.

What customers say
The whole team at Patriot Drywall & Plastering were kind and professional. I also appreciated how well they communicated about timing, price, and what I needed to do to be ready for their arrival.
I was in need of a ceiling repair due to a roof leak. John and Daniel did a phenomenal job! I would highly recommend.
Questions we get
Do you work with insurance claims?
Yes. We work with insurance companies, homeowners, contractors, property managers and renters, and can document the damage and the repair for your adjuster.
How should I get the room ready?
Clear the work area and the space around it as much as you can, and take down light fixtures in the work area beforehand. We bring every tool we need and cover floors and counters.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Every project is quoted individually, based on the labor time and materials it actually needs.
How can I pay?
Cash, check, or card through a secure payment link sent by text.
